The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is our most intensive outpatient offering. PHP is designed for individuals who require daily clinical support but do not need 24-hour residential care. It serves as either a step-down from inpatient treatment or a higher level of care for individuals who need more structure than traditional outpatient therapy can provide.
PHP provides a safe and supportive environment where clients can build coping skills, deepen their recovery foundation, and stabilize before transitioning into a less intensive level of care.
PHP includes access to a full clinical team, therapists, case managers, and medical providers, working collaboratively to support progress. Clients receive focused attention on both substance use and any underlying or co-occurring disorders, such as anxiety, depression, or PTSD.
For those who may benefit from psychiatric medications or anti-craving support, our medical team offers assessments, prescriptions, and ongoing monitoring. Medication is never forced, and all decisions are made in partnership with the client.
Our case managers help clients navigate housing, employment, legal matters, and other life stressors that impact recovery. We believe healing must extend beyond the therapy room into the real world.
When clinically appropriate and with client consent, we offer family support through phone check-ins, education, and involvement in care planning. We help families understand the recovery process and their role within it.
As clients progress in PHP, we work with them to plan their next steps. Most transition into our IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program), continue with individual therapy, or receive referrals to community-based resources that support long-term success.
PHP is best suited for individuals who:
We understand that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. For many people, PHP is the right balance of structure and freedom. It offers the safety of daily therapeutic contact without removing individuals from their lives entirely.
At River City Recovery, PHP is more than a schedule; it’s a launching pad. It provides the time, space, and support to do meaningful work and establish a solid foundation for long-term recovery. If you’re ready to take your next step in a serious, structured, and supportive environment, PHP may be the right fit for you.
