Mission & Values

At River City Recovery, our mission is simple:

To restore dignity, purpose, and hope by providing evidence-based, relationship-driven care for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

We exist to serve people, not systems. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of those navigating real-world challenges. We prioritize clinical integrity, authentic connection, and a commitment to walking alongside each person on their journey toward lasting recovery.

This mission isn’t just words on a wall. It’s the reason we show up each day. It shapes how we answer the phone, how we design our programs, and how we treat every person who walks through our doors: with respect, clarity, and care.

Our Vision

We envision a world where:

  • Seeking help is seen as a sign of strength, not shame.
  • Recovery services are accessible, affordable, and built for the realities of daily life.
  • Treatment is personalized, trauma-informed, and free from judgment.
  • Individuals in recovery are supported not just clinically, but also socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

We believe recovery is more than the absence of drugs or alcohol. It’s about rebuilding relationships, restoring identity, and reclaiming your life. Our vision is to create a program, and a culture, that reflects those values every step of the way.

We are working toward a future where River City Recovery becomes a trusted cornerstone in the Columbus community and beyond, a place where people come not just to get sober, but to get well.

Our Core Values

Our values guide how we treat our clients, our staff, and each other. They are the foundation of everything we do.

  1. Authenticity
We show up as real people who are honest, transparent, and committed to truth over image. We believe healing happens when people feel safe enough to be who they really are. That starts with us.
  2. Compassion
Everyone is fighting a battle you can’t see. We lead with empathy, not assumptions. We meet people with understanding, especially when they’re struggling.
  3. Accountability
Recovery requires structure, responsibility, and follow-through. We hold our clients, and ourselves, to a standard of integrity that creates safety and consistency.
  4. Excellence
We don’t cut corners. We pursue clinical best practices, ongoing staff development, and operational systems that allow us to deliver care at the highest standard. Professionalism and heart can, and must, coexist.
  5. Accessibility
Addiction and mental health issues don’t discriminate. We believe treatment should be available to people from all walks of life. That’s why we’ve built a flexible outpatient model, work with insurance providers, and keep our services grounded in the needs of our local community.
  6. Community
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. We foster connection inside our programs and collaborate with partners outside our walls. We believe recovery is most powerful when it’s shared.
  7. Growth
We are not static, and neither are the people we serve. We embrace progress over perfection and believe that setbacks are part of the journey, not the end of it. We encourage learning, both in our clients and within our team.

These values are more than internal language; they’re visible in every decision we make. They shape our curriculum, our hiring, our tone, our systems, and our culture. We invite everyone who enters our program to join us in living out these values day by day, step by step.

Because recovery isn’t just about getting back to who you were. It’s about becoming who you’re meant to be.
