At River City Recovery, our mission doesn’t stop at the walls of our clinic. We believe lasting change happens when recovery becomes part of the cultural conversation: when stories are shared, stigma is challenged, and people in every corner of the community feel empowered to take part in the solution.
That’s why we actively engage in events, speaking opportunities, and volunteer initiatives throughout Columbus and the surrounding region. From high school auditoriums to community health fairs, from church basements to courthouse panels, we go where the conversation needs to happen.
Because recovery isn’t just clinical. It’s communal.
River City Recovery regularly organizes and supports events that promote education, awareness, and connection, including:
Hosting local events on International Overdose Awareness Day and other key dates to educate the public, distribute Narcan, and reduce stigma.
Collaborating with local partners each September to celebrate National Recovery Month, featuring speakers, music, family-friendly activities, and resource sharing.
Participating in community events that bring together treatment centers, nonprofits, and public health partners to connect residents with services.
Offering sober holiday gatherings, donation drives, and community meals to ensure no one in recovery feels alone during difficult seasons.
Creating opportunities for clinicians, medical providers, probation officers, and treatment professionals to build relationships and strengthen the local continuum of care.
Our staff regularly provides expert presentations to:
We believe that storytelling, education, and honest conversation are some of the most powerful tools we have to fight addiction, and we’re always honored to speak when invited.
